.ON JULY 31ST images of a Russian Mi-8 transport helicopter, collapsed and burning, started flowing on social media sites. That in itself was certainly not uncommon: Ukrainian powers have rejected credit ratings of choppers considering that the Russian attack began. So much more surprising was actually the insurance claim in the Ukrainian push that this chopper had been actually downed by a tiny drone.
A video clip released by the country’s armed forces a handful of days eventually seemed to offer support to that case: the footage (find listed below) reveals a drone reaching another Russian airplane, this time around an Mi-28 assault helicopter, supposedly forcing it to create an unexpected emergency touchdown. Were these fortunate hits– or even indications of a discovery in aerial combat?
